Undergraduate and postgraduate medical education forms the core of Belgaum Institute Of Medical Sciences, located on Dr B R Ambedkar Road in Sadashiv Nagar, Belagavi. Established in 2005 by the Government of Karnataka, the campus is spread over 33.25 acres right beside the Civil Hospital. It is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). If you are looking at medical studies, the institute provides an MBBS undergraduate program with an intake of 200 seats, admitted through Karnataka-CET and All India entrance exams. It also conducts postgraduate MD and MS programs across disciplines such as General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopedics, Anaesthesia, and Radio Diagnosis, alongside paramedical and nursing courses.
