According to the institution, it places primary emphasis on molding competent nurses prepared to cater to needs across healthcare sectors. Established in 2006, the college is approved by the Government of Kerala and recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council, and Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. It also holds an A Grade accreditation by QAS, Kerala University of Health Sciences. Students carry out clinical training at the parent hospital, KIMSHEALTH in Trivandrum, which is accredited by NABH and ACHSI. Clinical exposure is also arranged through affiliations with government centers like The Regional Cancer Centre, The Women and Children Hospital in Thycaud, and General Hospital Trivandrum. The campus at Chempakamangalam includes simulation labs, hostel facilities, and a library to support regular learning. Academic programs range from undergraduate to doctoral studies, led by Principal Dr. Susan Jose and Vice Principal Dr. Jessy Thomas.
